Hobby Lobby

Yes, we now have Hobby Lobby within a few miles of a drive for us.  I love the fact that I have several places to shop now.  I get emails now from all three of the craft stores so I can go where I need to go...love it!!  Thank you Hobby Lobby for seeing our need for you!

Cards I've made over the last couple months...

This was my card for August.
Recollections cardstock, misc. brad and ribbon and Create a Critter cricut cart for the owl.  I got to use my Crop a Dial corner rounder on these cards, what a great tool!

This is my card for September.
I love the tri-fold look so this simple card is made with DCWV card stack and recollections card stock.  The apple is cut from Creative Memories Cheerful Seasons cricut cart.

Stamp is from a miscellaneous stamp set I've had for a while.

This is my card for October
Recollections cardstock, Cloud 9 designs, Martha Stewart fence punch, Martha Stewart glitter for the moon and star, misc. stamp and thread.  The Bat was cut from the Happy Hauntings cricut cart.

This is my card for November
Recollections shimmer cardstock, Stampin Up brad and ribbon, recollections flowers, Martha Stewart punch,  Stampin Up punch, Creative Memories circle punch, Stampin Up stamp set and Tim Holtz embossing folder. This was the first card that I have sewn on, and it won't be the last.  It was a lot of fun and I look forward to doing more with different stitching.

This is my card for December.
Recollections card stock, Paper Studio paper pack (Hobby Lobby is now only 18 miles away, yippee!!)
Stampin Up snowflake punch, Creative memories snowflake punch, Stampin Up ribbon and misc. snowflake brads.

Tangerine Tango

Hi Everyone!  It's been a long time since a posting!  I've been busy with lots of things.  We traveled to Washington DC for 15 days, learning lots about our history and visiting Smithsonian's.  We rented a home in Virginia, 15 minutes from the Vienna Metro.  What an experience that was...green to red to yellow, WOW!  It was a wonderful trip with some great friends!

Here is a  new posting.  I purchased this Tangerine Tango embossing powder in October and hadn't used it yet, so I pulled it out this morning and made this card.  Hope you like it.
The card stock is Stampin Up Calypso Coral, Black, and white.  The ink is Stampin Up Calypso Coral.  The ribbon is Organza from Stampin Up and a miscellaneous brad.

Americana Card

I got this idea from one of the blogs that I follow.  Americana is my style so this card was fun to make. I used a Michael's stamp, recollections cardstock, and older patterned paperpack that I had in my collection and the stamps are from Stampin Up.  The star is cut from Stand and Salute cricut cartridge.

Pinwheel Card

My pinwheel card inspiration came from the Cricut Cardmaking book.  Cardstock is recollections and patterned paper is creative memories.  The stamp and twine is from Stampin Up and button is from the Scrap Expo.  I used these cards for both of groups I participate in.

Man Card

I enjoyed making this card.  Mr. Fix It is my husband when I need something repaired that I can't do myself.  This was made with recollections cardstock, Handyman Cartridge, twine from On the Surface, stamp from Michaels, silver stickles and the embossing folder was purchased at the Scrap Expo (don't remember which booth).

Happy Birthday

This was a fun card to make.  I belong to a group that exchanges every month with a particular theme.  This one was anything "spring" and I love trying to challenge myself to make something different each time.  Hope you like it.

Scrapbook for my Dad

This is a book for my Dad.  My grandma had put photos into one of those old albums with the sticky pages...well, I took all the photos out, scanned them and I am making a new book for him.

I know that he will love this album!

Card for exchange

This is a card I made for the monthly exchange that I participate in.

I used Recollections cardstock, misc. buttons, Martha Stewart punch, and Stampin Up ribbon.

A party invitation

We are taking a trip to Washington DC in September.  Each trip that we take, there is always a lot of planning involved.  This year it is a Red, White, and Blue theme as we visit our nations capitol.  So, for our final get together before the trip, we made these Explosion Boxes with the invite written on one of the panels inside.  We instructed everyone that the will be able to use this when we return to put some favorite photos in of our trip.

We used Nantucket Stack Pack from DCWV, assorted brads, Independence Day Cart and the Stand and Salute Cart.  We used Stampin up transparency for the "floating" stars.

All purpose cards

I finished the set of all purpose cards for my mom.  Here are the last two designs.  She will have 18 total. I just loved the stack packs that I used for these cards.  The embellishments are from Stampin Up and the brad is a misc. one that I had.

Hi Friends

I've been busy with all kinds of stuff.  I have been card making and scrapbooking but just haven't spent time on my blog.  I will be posting quite a few things today to try and catch you all up on what I've been working on.

A set of All Purpose Cards

I wanted to do a little something for my mom, as she has gotten more involved in a women's group and know she will need some "all occasion cards". So, I still want to make some Birthday cards to add to the set but here's what I have so far. I made two of each of these.

I used two stacks of K&Company Designer paper slabs, Stampin Up punches, Stampin Up and other ribbons, Stamps of Life stamps and other misc. stamps.  She will really like these as she will have them on hand when she might need one at a moments notice.

A Package in the mail!

After being gone for a few days, I came home to two packages in the mail...one from Oh My Crafts, full of a variety of vinyl that I couldn't resist because of the great sale they were having. The other package was full of blog candy that I won from Sandy O at http://papertransformer.blogspot.com/ Here are all the goodies I received:
My mind is already moving with ideas that I can do with all these goodies. There is a Thoughts and Thanks stamp set, a stamp borders set, butterfly stamp set, bling, 3 spools of ribbon, a little tin box, tags, 2 sizes of 5 each chip board, rings, a small wooden box, a baggie with lots of little charms inside, some little clothes pins, two bottles of tacky glue, and two cute little teddy bears. I can't wait to get started on a project. Thank you so much Sandy for this box of fun! I appreciate it so much and look forward to more challenges and hops!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Weekend in Yosemite

We had a wonderful weekend with friends to Yosemite. My husband and I, even though we've been in Manteca (90 miles away) for almost 29 years, had never been there. What a beautiful place it is. The week before there was so much snow on the valley floor that we would have had a tough time getting in but when we were there, the waterfalls were gorgeous. We must have saw at least 20 of them. This is a photo of just one.

This is the ever popular photo that you see a lot. Halfdome is in the distance on the right hand side. There was still snow up there so we weren't able to go up that high.

This is our group taking a break in front of a very fast rushing waterfall. We could feel the mist from it where we were sitting.

If you are ever in California, this is a site to see!

CCCC # 17 Give a Hoot

Along with the challenge, I am also giving this card to a friend for her Birthday. We enjoyed a fun day at Senior Frogs on one of our trips to Mexico so you know there is a note about that inside, lol!

I used an A2 card base, K & Company mat stack, punch, stamp, and ribbon from Stampin' Up, assorted brads, and recollections cardstock. This was a lot of fun, hope you like it as much as I know my friend will!

A Thank You noteI

I spent a wonderful weekend with some good friends at their cabin earlier in the month. I wanted to make this card for them, as it resembles what their cabin looks like. I didn't put "Thank you" on the front, in case they might want to frame it...I used the Camping Out cartridge and it is an odd sized card so I made my own envelope for it. Hope you like it.

I made this set of cards with a group of gals at a Stampin Up Stamp Camp. There are 2 of each card and then we made the box to store them in. Was a lot of fun and they have an elegant feel to them.

I love to cook and bake now that I don't work full time.  This saying, to me
